Women in science: Atomic 2025!

Family

On February 11th, we celebrate the United Nations International Day of Women and Girls in Science!
To mark this occasion, Den Gjenfundne Tid, under the banner of Reconciliation Festival, invites all young people (not just the girls!!) aged 8 to 17 to discover the lives of three exceptional women: Marie Curie and her daughters, Irène Joliot-Curie and Ève Curie-Labouisse, and take part in a fun educational project.

📅 Join us on Saturday, February 8th, in Stavanger!
📧 Register by email: contact@reconciliation-festival.com

In partnership with the association Dessine-Moi un Mouton, we will introduce you to these three inspiring women. Then, in groups, you will write biographical cards in French about them. These cards will become part of a game to discover female scientists and will be shared with the French association La Main à la Pâte, whose co-founder, Yves Quéré, is the godfather of Reconciliation Festival.
✨ A wonderful hands-on collaboration to recognize women in science and encourage everyone to explore the wonders of science and the women behind it!

🔎 In 2024, we already collected cards on 10 female scientists! But Marie Curie and Irène were still missing!!

🎲 How to play?

  • Two teams: one guesses, the other gives clues.
  • Players can only see one side of the card and must guess the scientist based on the clues gradually provided by the other team.
  • It might be tricky at first… except for Marie Curie! But soon, you’ll learn more about these amazing women in science… and maybe you’ll want to enrich the game by creating a card for a scientist of your choice?

🔬 Have fun exploring science!
