On February 11th, we celebrated the United Nations International Day of Women and Girls in Science! To mark this occasion, Den Gjenfundne Tid, under the banner of the Reconciliation Festival: Art and Science for a Beautiful World, is partnering with the association “Dessine moi un mouton” and inviting you to join them!
From February 11th to March 31st, children (boys and girls aged 9 to 17) will have the opportunity to write bibliographical cards in French, English, or Norwegian on scientific women’s subjects. These cards will be part of a game to discover female scientists and will be shared with the French association “La Main à la Pâte,” whose co-founder Yves Quéré is the patron of the Reconciliation Festival. This will be a wonderful concrete collaboration for the recognition of women in science and will encourage everyone to discover the joys of science. Just send us an email at contact@reconciliation-festival.com and indicate the name of “your” scientist as well as the name and age of your child. We will finalize and harmonize the cards. Simply fill in the information and add your own illustrations. Here are some examples: Marie Curie, Irène Joliot-Curie, Françoise Barré-Sinoussi, Emmanuelle Charpentier, Sophie Adénot, Lucia de Brouckère, Evelyne Heyer, Claire Voisin, Francine Ntoumi, Harriett Brooks, Nathalie Cabrol, Meriem Chadid, Anne L’Huillier, Dorothy Crowfoot Hodgkin, Rita Levi-Montalcini…
In the game, players can only see the back of the card and will try to guess who the scientist is using the information on the back. The front side can then be read by everyone to discover more information about her.
